More National Champs in the House

More National Champs in the House

Well, after a weekend of great efforts by our athletes at Mountain Bike Nationals in Winter Park, Colorado, we’ve got a few more National Champs jerseys to make!

Rebecca Gross Wins Masters Cross Country

Rebecca’s been a long-time member of the Voler athlete family and the victory in Winter Park marks her third (maybe even fourth!) National Championship title. After riding off the back of the leaders for the entire race, she was able to catch them on the last lap and unleash a massive sprint for the high-altitude win in the 40-44 age group. Rebecca lives to ride and race and you can find her on the European Cyclocross professional cyclocross circuit hammering away and also spreading the stoke closer to home where she’s a coach and mentor for the GBX juniors. The kids are what motivate her to dig so deep, she says.

Savilia Blunk Does the Elite Double

As if winning one national title wasn’t enough, Orange Seal’s Savilia Blunk followed up her Elite U23 cross country victory with a win in the Elite Women’s Short Track race! In the later race, she bided her time through the technical single track before punching it hard to get the winning gap. The big wins in Winterpark are just the latest impressive rides from Blunk, who earlier this year also won the U23 Pan American cross country championship in Puerto Rico. We can’t wait to see what this rising riding star does next!

Cole Paton Lands on the Podium

Voler Rookie Cole Paton put in a stellar ride at Nats, nabbing third place in the Men’s Elite short track race. Even if we don’t get to make Cole a jersey (this year) we’re still psyched to see him throwing down on the pointy end during his first year in the Elite big boys race at Nationals.
